If not state otherwise below, press F1 at main menu.
Listen for ‘Trainer Activated’.
Press desired hotkey. All hotkeys can be changed on the trainer.

Visit your EXP progress screen and close the screen so you are back at your home screen. Press hotkey and visit your EXP screen again to see changes.
